In case you've been living under a rock (or don't have a borderline obsessive love like I do), you know that Pitch Perfect 2 came out this weekend. It was inappropriate and hilarious and full of songs. I decided that I desperately needed a girls night so what better time than a midnight showing of Pitch Perfect?!
* We actually went at 9:30 on Thursday. They also had a 7 showing. Apparently they don't do midnight showings much anymore because kids were staying out all night and then skipping school the next day or something...
So girls night was planned. Dinner and a movie. Time to catch up on life and then time to laugh together. Just as it should be. But then life happened. Everyone had things come up and were running behind and we didn't get to dinner until way later than we had planned. Dinner was at a cool new pizza place. Well, the pizza place isn't new, but the location is. We ate on the rooftop patio. It was great and the weather was perfect! But because we were trying to get to a movie, the dinner was rushed and the conversation was virtually non-existent.
Then we went to the movie, and while hilarious, it didn't inspire much conversation. An anticipated night of conversation and catching up turned into just another superficial hangout. Blah! Real girls night will have to be rescheduled...
